Ensembles
Bronco Marching Band
The Bronco Marching Band is an all volunteer extracurricular ensemble. One of the most prominent student organizations at LSN, the BMB plays at all home football games as well as several regional competitions throughout the fall. We also play host to the Lee's Summit North Marching Invitational where we welcome hundreds of students to compete in marching field shows, indoor percussion, and indoor color guard.
Symphonic Band
The Symphonic Band is the premier concert band at Lee's Summit North High School and is open to band students from 9th-12th grade. Primarily made up of upperclassmen, placement is determined by blind auditions at the close of the previous school year. The LSN Symphonic Band has represented the LSR7 school district at the Missouri Music Educators Association Clinic as well as at various other regional festivals and world-class performance venues. Recently, the Symphonic Band was honored to perform at the Claude T Smith Invitational where the students had the opportunity to work with world renowned composer Frank Ticheli.
Concert Band
The Lee's Summit North Concert Band is an audition based group open to 9th-12th grade band students. Placement is determined by blind auditions at the close of the previous school year. In this ensemble students work to continue to hone the skills that they began developing in middle school band in order to reach their own highest potential level of achievement. The Concert Band gives several concerts throughout the year and consistently earns high ratings at the MSHSAA Large Ensemble Festival held each spring.
Bronco Jazz Ensemble
The Bronco Jazz Ensemble is an extra-curricular ensemble that meets before school starting after the marching band season and continuing until the end of the school year. The ensemble is comprised of saxophones, trombones, trumpets, and a rhythm section (drum set, piano, guitar, bass guitar, etc.). Students in this ensemble will explore various genres and styles including swing, blues, rock, bebop, fusion, latin jazz and its various forms, and more. The Jazz Ensemble performs at our home concerts and also travels around the region to perform in various jazz festivals.
Pep Band
The Pep Band performs at various Bronco sporting events throughout the year. The goal of the Pep Band is to provide an exciting and electrifying atmosphere at our schools sporting events. The Pep Band plays a wide array of pop songs arranged for the band. Please check the calendar for details on when the Pep Band will be performing.
